As we only get to join a new "club" once every decade it is worth celebrating these events in whatever and as many ways as makes the "celebrator" happy (-: I have always believed in having birthday parties as it is a great way to get to see friends and, as is now the case, for some of my friends to have their annual get-together too.
As this was a "club" year I celebrated in a number of ways which were all great fun. First of all Annie and I went to Norway to do something I have always wanted to do, see the Midnight Sun. that was absolutely fantastic and can be seen in the Norway pages of the Travels section of this website.
Next was a Champagne Brunch in the gardens of St Georges Fields, where we live. I was lucky enough to have both my sisters representing the Abro family and Marianne on the Cobb side. All in all we were 34 adults and 10 kids ranging in age from 1 to 15! It was a really fun way to celebrate my birthday with my friends and the kids had a ball together.
And then, for those that could not make the Champagne Brunch in the gardens, we decided to have Champagne on the Balcony. As it is always so difficult to find a date that suits everyone, we held two parties and let everyone choose whichever suited them. The champagne, coloured pink by Cassis, flowed and the snacks seemed to go down well too!
It was a really fun way of celebrating my birthday and getting to see all of our friends!
