Namibia & South Africa

March - April - May 2003

We had not planned to travel to South Africa during 2003 but were given a happy reason to change our minds. My younger sister, Carole, was getting married to her fiancé, Warren. They had planned to get married on a small game reserve called Tala which is quite near to Durban. Annie and I had been there on our previous visit to South Africa so knew it would be a good venue for a wedding and it turned out to be just that.

As with all our South African trips we aimed to include a new adventure of some sort, somewhere neither of us had been before and doing something new or always wanted to experience or, as the case was here, both. Destination Namibia turned out to be spectacular, exciting, fun and many things that were completely unexpected of this desert country. Our experiences led me to refer to Namibia as "Africa's best kept secret"!
