Desert Express - Namibia

Skeleton Coast   Khan Valley   Walvis Bay   Sky Diving   Just Chilling   Desert Express

The last leg of our Namibian adventure was to be on board the Desert Express, an overnight journey on a really luxurious train. Along the way we stopped for a short guided walk through the desert vegetation and sundowner drinks. During our gastronomic dinner we stopped at a siding for a few hours so that we could go star-gazing followed by coffee in the lounge-car and then bed. The cabins were huge by train standards and even had power-showers in the bathrooms! The next morning after breakfast we stopped again, this time to go on a game drive in a private reserve where we managed to get up really close to various types of buck, giraffe and a family of three rhino's. Then it was back to Windhoek for a few hours before being driven back to the airport for our flight back to Johannesburg.
