When we planned our trip initially we intended going to stay at a lodge right at the top of the Skeleton Coast but the exclusivity would have tripled the cost of our holiday! We decided instead to spend 5 days in Swakopmund as there is so much to do in and around the area.

We arrived in Swakopmund in the late afternoon so we spent the rest of the day wandering around, getting to know where everything was and spending some time sipping coffee at the infamous Out of Africa coffee-shop. We found out that it was somewhere frequented by locals and travellers alike and it became a firm favourite of ours too. In fact the only other places we drank coffee were at our hotel and after dinner in the restaurants!
