As South Africans living elsewhere in the world, like many others, we travel back to South Africa to visit family and friends as that is what we all miss most about our old home. All too often, South Africans visiting South Africa forget how beautiful the country is and how much it has to offer. From the naturally amazing landscapes and sights to the world-class entertainment which ranges from the warm oceans of the Natal Coast to wildlife viewing throughout the country, from the awesome views of the Drakensburg to tasting incredible wines in the Cape and, for the shoppers of the world, there are world-class shopping centres that cater for every need, want and pocket! There is also no danger of going hungry no matter where in South Africa you are as around any and every corner there is another restaurant providing the tastes of South Africa, the rest of the continent and the rest of the world.
Given all of this we decided that this visit was to be one of visiting family and friends while being tourists in our old home country. We also invited our friend David to join us as he is a well-travelled Englishman who has threatened many times but never visited South Africa.
We had a FANTASTIC holiday visiting Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town and even managing to get to the Drakensburg, a Game Reserve and the Winelands! I hope you enjoy sharing in our adventures around an incredibly beautiful country!
