After two months in Durban it was time for me to go home. Annie had left a couple of weeks earlier but I had stayed on to help as my parents had to move out of their flat for a week. Their lift was being repaired and being stuck on the 6th floor after heart surgery was not a great idea. It turned out to be a great week as we stayed in a friend of my parents' penthouse in Umhlanga Rocks overlooking the ocean and a five minute walk to the beach. It was tough but someone has to do it (-: Given the great location I went walking on the beach and swimming in the sea most days we were there. It was also really good for Dad to relax and continue to improve. We were also all able to go to restaurants and for walks. The best leaving present for me was how well Dad had improved and continues to do so. He has now retired from Wakefields Estate Agency and is starting to work with Susan and her partner Grant in their law firm. Mom has stayed on at Wakefields so, for the first time since they got married they are working apart from each other! Thankfully Durban is a small city and they are just down the road from each other (-: My parents sound really happy, what more can I ask for!!!
