Zambia, Zimbabwe & SA - Zambian Falls

We wasted little time dumping our bags before heading off to see the Vic Falls from the Zambian side. We followed the scenic walk up and down some fairly treacherous rock stairs and over the Knife Edge Bridge to see the Eastern Cataract, the Rainbow Falls and the Boiling Pot. In all there are seven different waterfalls making up the Victoria Falls and, depending on the rain ad the season you get to see them at various levels of water and power. We were lucky enough to be there when The Falls were flowing at a good rate but not to the point where the mist obstructs the view which can happen in the high season.

After we had spent quite some time marvelling at The Falls we went back to our room to get "cleaned up", put on trousers and plenty of mosquito repellent. Then it was off to have sundowners sitting on the deck over the Zambezi watching the thundering smoke and the sunset, another rough day in Africa! We ate dinner at the French restaurant in the hotel, also sitting outdoors. What an amazing place and it was only our first day!
